We know once you become engaged you are entering a whole new world.
Bridal shopping may be new to you but it is our specialty. Below are tips, policies, and frequently asked questions to help guide you through the planning process
-
Why do I need an appointment? We operate by appointment only to ensure that you have the attention you deserve. To ensure service, please request an appointment.
-
How long will my appointment last?Typically, our bridal appointments are scheduled for 75 minutes to give brides time to try a variety of silhouettes. During the busy season and on weekends, appointment times may be reduced to one hour to accommodate the many appointment requests. Return appointments are encouraged if you feel you need more time. Mothers and all other appointments are scheduled for one hour.
-
How will I know when I've found my gown?Every bride reacts differently. Many find their dress in the first visit while others may make several visits before they reach a final decision. Some are emotional and exuberant while others never shed a tear. We recommend that you set realistic expectations for your bridal shopping experience. Enjoy the search but do not overwhelm yourself with too many choices or too many conflicting opinions from well-meaning friends and family. Find the best look for you, your theme and/or your venue. Think of your comfort throughout a very long day and choose a soliloquy that remains in your heart!
-
Whom should I bring with me to my appointment?Choosing a wedding gown can be an emotional and challenging decision. You should only bring a few trusted people with you to assist you and enjoy the experience. We find that most brides are successful with just one or two. While it may be important for you to have the opinion of those who love and support you, make sure their motivations are solely focused on you and your happiness on your wedding day. Once you receive your appointment confirmation email, please read it carefully and comply with our guidelines to ensure that you have the experience you deserve, and in respect of others who may have simultaneous appointments.
-
Can I bring children to my appointment? Thanks for asking. Our environment is not conducive for children. We are a small, intimate boutique and we offer private appointments to all customers. We ask that you limit children to the flower-girls in the bridal party.
-
Why can't I bring alcohol, champagne, or food to my appointment? We are not licensed to allow alcoholic beverages to be brought by customers into our boutique. Food is not permissible at your appointment. Odors from food can seep into our gowns
-
How early should I buy my gown and why does it take so long?Gowns can take at least 4-6 months for delivery, while the alterations process can take another two months depending on the season. To ensure that you have a stress-free process and avoid late fees, start shopping as soon as you can within the year of your wedding. Alternately, if you are more that 12 months from your wedding, shopping too early can make you second-guess your decision. If you have a long engagement, 9-10 months out should be just right. Give yourself a deadline and stick to it. Once your gown is purchased, you can move forward with the other details of your wedding.
-
What is the price range of your gowns? Our bridal gowns range in price from $2,500 to $6,000+. We source gowns of the highest quality with natural and luxurious fabrics and superior construction - features that will benefit you greatly during a long wedding day! Additionally, all wedding dresses and custom designs are ethically and sustainably made-to-order by the Barbara Kavchok team (our designer) in Historic Bethlehem, PA,USA.
-

-
Are alterations included in the price of my gown?Alterations are a separate fee and work by appointment only. The cost and type of alterations needed will vary among brides depending on what is needed to make your dress fit perfectly. Fees are charged based on an efficiency model to ensure that you are not overcharged for alterations needed. There is no set fee for alterations at our boutique.
-
Will you alter my gown if I did not purchase from you?Alterations are provided for Soliloquy brides only. Outside bridal alterations may be accommodated if available. At various times throughout the year, we will alter gowns that were purchased at other stores depending on the alterations schedule of our own clients. Please call and check for availability. Soliloquy does not provide alterations for non-bridal gowns
